A little bit about me and my counselling practice.

EXPERIENCE:
I have years of experience counselling young people and adults, and working with diagnoses including ADHD, ADD, Depression, and ASC. Also I'm experienced in working with, amongst other things; OCD, Varied Anxieties, Disordered Eating, Gender Identity, Sexuality Identity, Self- relationship/confidence issues, Low mood, Bereavement, Self-Harm and Suicidal ideation.
COUNSELLING:
My grounding is in Person-Centred Existential theory and practice.
I offer a non-judgemental friendly environment, a space for you to trust and feel safe in, to feel truly heard. I believe, individuals, given the time, opportunity, support, connection, and right environment to explore and work through their "stuff" greater identify their abilities, further connect to, and improve self-efficacy.
Through our therapeutic relationship I aim, with sensitive honesty, empathy, and genuine care; to create the space for us to work with the identified "stuff". To create a space for new perspectives, options, and abilities to be identified, heard, and for a deepening of Self-Awareness and understanding to be possible.
Via a joint exploration of your life, your experiences and struggles, having this held, truly heard and attuned to, I believe creates that space where self-discoveries can happen, reinforcing and implementing newly identified abilities and options becomes possible. Along with the opportunity for increasing self-awareness/understanding, and self-relationship/confidence.
Tailoring therapy to suit the individual, the pluralistic element, how does that work? I will infuse, when appropriate, elements from other modalities of counselling that may help in our therapeutic journey and outcomes. For example; this might be Solution Focused elements in terms of coping mechanisms or S.M.A.R.T goals.
